libopenmpi1.6 software package provides high performance message passing library -- shared library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libopenmpi1.6
libopenmpi1.6 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libopenmpi1.6 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libopenmpi1.6 *
You will get with libopenmpi1.6 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
